Meet Jack the Pony Bringing Festive Cheer to Care Homes this Christmas
Residents at Woodspring House Care Home were surprised to discover their Christmas party had been gatecrashed by none other than Jack the Shetland pony earlier this month.
Jack Brock and his handler Ali Stearn have been doing the rounds in Norfolk this year, bringing a sense of festive cheer to care home residents and enjoying carrots and the occasional nibble of Christmas buffet along the way.
This isn’t the first time Jack has found himself in the news. Through his charity work as a dementia ambassador, Jack and Ali have raised over £18,000 which has seen them feature in Horse and Hound and Heart.
Described as “full of character” and “loved by patients”, Ali told Heart,
“One gentleman Jack visited, he loved him and stroked him and kept telling me about his cats, at the time he was thoroughly enjoying himself, cuddling Jack and engaging and having a great conversation about cats even though Jack is not a cat. It was just lovely to see him happy."
