Raises for Nursing
The Classic bed can be raised to a high nursing height of 80cm. This provides an encompassing height range suitable for all heights of carer, effectively reducing the risk of back strain.
Profiling Mattress
The Opera® Classic's profiling mattress platform allows the user to adjust the backrest and knee-break of the base to sit up in bed and elevate their knees or feet. This ensures comfort and improves circulation.
Trendelenburg/Tilt
The bed has a Trendelenburg function which means the whole bed can be adjusted to tilt both forwards and backwards. This is beneficial for users with respiratory conditions and also improves blood flow.
Easy-to-Use Handset
A straightforward, easy-to-operate handset is used to control the Opera® Classic bed. The handset has a locking feature that enables the operator to disable all or just Trendelenburg functions where there are safety concerns with the user.

Yes, the Classic bed is ideal for on-bed nursing. It raises to 80cm (measured from floor to top of mattress platform) which is well above the accepted nursing height of 70cm. this means it will raise to the waist level of even the tallest of carers.
The Classic lowers to an easy access height of 40cm (measured from floor to top of mattress platform). This will be suitable for most users can be raised electrically to support getting off the bed. For users who struggle to swing their legs onto the bed when getting in, a bed that lowesrs closer to the floor may be more beneifcial - see our SIgnature and Solo bed collections.
Mattresses are sold separately and you will be asked to slect a mattress when you click 'Add to Basket'. There are various mattress options depending on pressure care needs and comfort preferences.
Yes, the Opera Classic comes with side rails as standard. They can be raised to prevent falls and when not in use they drop down below the mattress and act as a wooden side to the bed.
The wooden side rails can only be operated by a person outside of the bed. Raising the rails to prevent falls is simple and a finger-operated securing latch holds them firmly in place. The rails can be lowered below the mattress when not in use.
In the event of a power cut, all of our profiling beds have a 29v battery back-up which provides enough power toadjust the bed to a safe position.
Scheduled servicing is not a requirement. The bed is covered by an all-inclusive warranty for the first three years in which all parts and engineer/labour costs are covered. A two year parts extension is also available for addiitonal peace of mind. One-off servicing visits by an Opera engineer are also available at any point when the bed is in use.

Your bed will be delivered and installed in your home by a 2-man crew within 3-6 working days of purchasing. You will be given a delivery date when you order and will receive a call from the installation crew 1 hour before delivery.
Old Bed and Mattress Removal
£95 WITH VAT RELIEF
PURCHASE WITH INSTALLATION
The 2-man installation crew will dismantle and remove your old bed and mattress before installing your new bed. The old items will be taken away and either sustainably disposed or donated to charity depending on condition.
