A royal opening for the new Holton Lee Spinal Injury Centre
Holton Lee is a wellbeing discovery centre located at the heart of a beautiful nature reserve near Poole, Dorset. A new 13-bed spinal injury centre was recently completed to compliment the site's existing offering to adults with disabilities and mental health issues.
Part of the Livability group, the Holton Lee support and discovery centre offers a wide range of activities such as gardening, forestry therapy, arts and ceramics, bird watching, walking and accessible camping. HRH The Princess Royal (Princess Anne) visited the site for the official opening of the new spinal injury support unit and was given a tour of both the new unit and the surrounding facilities.

HRH The Princess Royal tours Holton Lee
Opera provided complete interior fit-out of the new spinal injury support unit at Holton Lee. This included the supply and installation of profiling beds, furniture, pressure care equipment and furnishings.
Upon completion, HRH The Princess Royal visited the site for the official venue opening and ceremony. She got a tour of the new spinal centre with the management team and was also taken around the wellbeing discovery centre, learning of wellbeing projects and activities and visiting the arts and ceramics studios, riding and carriages stables and other facilities/activities designed to support disabled adults.
The centre will make a valuable contribution, adding to the knowledge and skills already here and opening the doors for a very specific kind of support. It will promote support requirements for those that have been spinally injured and I look forward to what the achievements of these facilities can bring.

HRH The Princess Royal comes face to face with the Opera® ProSafe
Livability specified the Opera® ProSafe profiling bed (now discontinued) for the new 13-bed spinal injury centre. The bed's excellent clinical features, orthopaedic support, and elegant design were important factors for the operators of Holton Lee. Opera supplied and fitted the beds alongside accompanying furniture, chairs, and furnishings.
HRH The Princess Royal was taken around the lovely new bedrooms and seating areas at the opening ceremony and was able to experience Opera's fit-out including the Opera® ProSafe beds. She was reportedly very impressed by the excellent environment the new centre will provide for people with spinal injuries.
