Founded in March 2009, Life For a Kid was set up with an objective to help children under the age of 16 by offering funds and equipment which helps them lead a better life, and also help children that need life saving or life changing operations.
The Life For a Kid Sensory Centre is a facility located in Hull, East Yorkshire has amenities such as a soft play area, dark sensory room, ball pool and tactile feel room and sensory gardens. The sensory centre has over 30 Registered Special Educational Needs children, supporting those with autism, Asperger, Mowat Wilson Syndrome.
The sensory rooms allow relaxation and an opportunity for children to explore their feelings and interested in a supported environment. They are a great aid in children’s emotional health whilst the calming environment means parents and carers can bond with their children and take time out of what can be a stressful and busy lifestyle.
The charities founder, Dean Hoggard says the mission of Life For a Kid promotes physical and mental health and relieve sickness amongst children, including young people, their families and carers through the provision of finical support education and practical advice. Over the years, Life For a Kid have helped many children across Hull and East Yorkshire with support from the community through donations and sponsorships.
