How an Opera Bed Can Help with Joint & Bone Health
We've listed some of the key features to consider when choosing a bed to help enhance comfort and make everyday easier.
1. Get in and out of bed easier with height adjustment
This feature lets you lower or raise the entire bed height:
- Reduces strain on knees, hips, and lower back when getting in/out of bed - Ideal for stiff joints or limited mobility.
- Lowers to a seated position for safer transfers (e.g., post-surgery or during flare-ups).

2. Sit up properly and supported with adjustable positions
Independently adjust the head and leg sections to create tailored positions:
- Elevating legs reduces swelling in
knees/ankles (common with osteoarthritis).
- Raising the head improves spinal
alignment, alleviating pressure on arthritic hips and shoulders.

3. Ease pressure on your joints with zero-gravity
Elevates the legs slightly above the heart to replicate weightlessness:

Frequently Asked Questions
What type of bed is best for arthritis?
If you have arthritis, adjustable beds can alleviate your symptoms. It enables you to elevate your head and legs, which can reduce swelling and ease the pressure on your joints.
Rotating chair beds can also be helpful for people with arthritis; these beds are designed to make standing easier as they transition from a lying position to an upright chair.
Is a soft or firm mattress better for arthritis?
There are various factors that will determine which type of mattress is best for you, these include your preferred sleeping position, where your arthritis is, and your body type.
Typically, a medium-firm mattress could be best, as these offer a good combination of support and pressure relief. However, you may find that a memory foam mattress is more suitable because it contours to your body, cushioning your joints and reducing pressure.
Can I test the bed to see if it helps my joint pain or condition?
